Korea Republic Ladies reign supreme in Asia

Korea Republic have won the 2013 AFC U-19 Women’s Championship in China, on the back of four straight wins following a pulsating 2-2 draw with the hosts in the opener.

  

 

Having already qualified for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup next year by edging Korea DPR 2-1 on Friday, the Taeguk Ladies went on to defeat Australia by the same scoreline with Jang Selgi and Lee Sodam on target.

 

Earlier in the competition, the South Koreans drubbed Myanmar 7-0 before beating Japan 2-0 to take pole position in the six-nation group.

   

Meanwhile, captain Jang has racked up eight goals, including five against Myanmar, to finish as the tournament’s top scorer and the Most Valuable Player as well.
